Planning granted for RCSI Connolly Hospital

Planning permission has been granted for our dynamic Education & Research Centre at Conolly Hospital. This is our second ERC for The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and follows our project at Beaumont Hospital. That first building has been critically acclaimed by students, staff and hospital users.

The new 4,100 sqm three story ERC building is located in the leafy grounds of Connolly Hospital. It will greatly enhance the on-site education and research mission of the RCSI for both students and staff.

The building includes faculty and administration offices, student classrooms and labs, an auditorium and a café. These are all located around a central atrium and stairs. The centre seeks to support learning by providing a diversity of space types from formal classroom and lab settings to more informal breakout and ancillary spaces on the mezzanine over the central atrium.

Some additional facilities include a fitness suite, dedicated meeting rooms, and medical research labs.

End of Trip facilities with showers, changing and toilet facilities are also provided. An external roof terrace on the western side of the building affords panoramic views over the hospital campus and the adjoining Tolka Valley Park.
