Martin Spillane graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology with first class honours in 2002. He has been in practice with McCauley Daye O'Connell Architects since 2004 and became a Director in 2015.
Martin has comprehensive experience in large architectural schemes, having worked for over ten years on projects around Grand Canal Square in the Dublin Docklands. These include the five star Marker Hotel & Residences where Martin was involved in all aspects of design, planning, tender, construction and interior fit-out of 189 hotel bedrooms, public areas, spa and roof top bar along with retail units and 105 apartments covering over 350,000sqft
Martin was also project architect on 385,000sqft of Grade A offices at Nos 2, 4 & 5 Grand Canal Square. The most recent phase of this was the shell & core build-out for the new Facebook EMEA headquarters at Nos 4&5 GCS.
Martin specialises in workplace design within the practice and in recent years has developed this aspect of the practice by delivering design-led and commercially-aware office fit-outs in Dublin and London for Irish and US clients. Developing strong client relationships is integral to this and has led to a strong record on repeat work with clients.
