Dan Daye has been a director in McCauley Daye O’Connell Architects since 2004. Dan has acted as architect and director in charge of many projects with responsibility for design and project management.
He has worked on a wide variety of projects including the design and construction of 1 million sq.ft of world class award winning development in the Dublin Docklands area, which included: Facebook EMEA offices; The Marker Hotel; 125 Unit apartment block; 2100 seat Bord Gais Energy theatre; retail and medical uses - now the most innovative and successful urban development in the city. He is involved in many quality fit-out projects for international clients such as: Heineken, Capita, Indeed.com and is the director in charge of a 10 year rolling fit-out and refurbishment programme for the VHI including their new HQ in Abbey Street. He is also the director in charge of the 125 unit flag ship apartment development for Cairn Homes in the docks. Work is also underway on the €10 million extension to the ERC building in the grounds of Beaumont Hospital for the RCSI.
He was the architect in charge of the award winning €250m redevelopment of the Smithfield area which comprised 450 apartments, hotel, cultural space, offices, nursing home and retail which forms the west side of a significant urban redevelopment in this historic part of the city.
Dan is a qualified arbitrator and conciliator and is actively involved in the dispute resolution process. He is a member of several committees in the RIAI and is involved in the group re-drafting of the new form of contract.
