MDO’s extensive refurbishment of Kildare’s historic Carton House Hotel began with the hotel’s 150 bedrooms. Seeking to convey the atmosphere of a country estate, the bedrooms’ architectural character is expressed through a rich blend of colour, materiality, and texture.

 

Elaborate furnishings, fabric-lined walls, and special attention to interior furniture allow the bedrooms to become a central point of the guests’ engagement with history, while also enabling the new owners to raise the bedrooms’ achievable rates.
