The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre
The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is a 2000 seat venue designed by world-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind. The iconic Theatre building which will form the striking centrepiece of the Grand Canal Squarae development in the Dublin Docklands. The new waterfront public piazza has been designed by Boston-based Landscape architect Martha Schwartz as a dramatic ‘red carpet’ sweeping up to the Theatre entrance.
We were the Executive Architects for the project, charged with bringing to fruition the challenging design of the Theatre with its dynamically cantilevered volume and ensuring its seamless integration with the adjacent state-of-the-art commercial office development. Our role involved the design management and delivery of the building, coordinating the technical and design architects, managing the design process and input from operators, contractors , consultants, clients and other stakeholders.
