VHI Screening Centre

The VHI Screening Centre involved a change of use from an office to a new medical facility to carry out screening of life insurance policy holders with VHI. The design concept was to create an open reception space at the entrance and then to layout the cellular consulting and screening rooms to maximise the amount of natural light while using window treatments to maintain privacy for clients.

The existing open plan office space was stripped out and a new layout inserted with a central circulation route with consulting rooms to each side. Care was taken to separate out the flow of patients from routes for staff and for disposal of medical waste. The materials palette was selected to give a warm relaxed appearance with rich Jura grey limestone, dark timber and neutral off-whites for the walls. Consulting room furniture was selected to give a crisp white feeling while client seating in the waiting areas was selected as warm leather for comfort and cleanliness.

All floors were installed to allow for easy cleaning and hygiene. Clinical areas are floored in a vinyl selected for its dimpled finish in a sand colour that allows for the highest safety and health standards while maintaining a visual appearance more similar to carpet.
